Vintage Victorian Mourning Pin/Brooch Seed Pearl & Black ?Onyx

In very good vintage condition for age, possibly an antique; possibly from Victorian era; appears to be rare. The front of the brooch looks in very good condition with some fine surface scratches on the back. There are no maker´s marks or hallmarks.Features gold tone frame with unknown metal and black glossy background ?Onyx? with a center pearl stone and the clasp appears to be a safety catch or round hinge.Measures approximately 1.75 inches x 1.0 inchesMourning brooches were popular in Victorian times, especially 1837-1901. After Queen Victoria lost her husband in 1861, she went into mourning and this jewelry became popular for fashionable women.Condition: please note, all items are sold in ´as is´ condition.
