Vintage Extra Large Realist Oil Painting of Dunes, Dune grass, Surf & Seagulls

Ahhhhh. Who doesn’t love the beach! Surf, Sand, and…Sun? Where’s the sun in this painting because no one stays on the beach when it’s stormy looking? Never fear, the artist has saved the day by painting what appears to be clear skies rolling in on the left corner of the canvas. This Vintage Realist Beach Painting takes me there. It’s complete with dunes, dune grass, surf, sand and seagulls (as long as they don’t fly overhead). ;-) It’s one of the better painted ones I’ve seen. I just love the optimism of the artist’s choice to show clear skies rolling in. However, I personally love strolling the beach when no one is there and there’s a windy cool front rolling in. That’s where this painting takes me. Nature scenes are popular vintage subjects of painting. The Mid-Century art movement has had a lasting effect of appreciation for the ocean and its role in our lives financially, commercially, and now environmentally. This extra large painting measures 40 x 29 and is nicely framed.
