Details:Pride & Prejudice scarf is hand painted with Elizabeth Bennet & Mr. Darcy from the wonderful novel of Jane Austen. Size: 63 x 17 inches (160x43 cm) Silk: natural silk called Habotai Light. It is delicate, semi-transparent & a bit glossy. Pride & Prejudice scarf was designed by me in Art Nouveau (the Secession) style, after studying drawings of Alphonse Mucha. I have painted Elizabeth Bennet & Mr. Darcy stylized as cameo, & added a "Pride & Prejudice" sign in the middle of the scarf. This bookscarf was designed in vivid colors & a gift for Mothers Day (every mom loves Pride & Prejudice) I have decorated Elizabeth portrait with wild roses & other flowers associated with English gardens. Fitzwilliam Darcy´s portrait is decorated with leafs symbolizing strength & power. The ´Pride & Prejudice´ sign is decorated with splashes of watercolor style of painting. I know none of the Bennets sister painted (yes, I am a Pride & Prejudice fan) but I think this style represents the delicate sprit of Great Britain´s art of that period. I love the Pride & Prejudice book & I hope this scarf will become a great gift for someone special. It will be great Jane Austen gift as the scarves portrays one of the greatest love story characters. This Art Nouveau scarf will require hand washing in lukewarm water & ironing on the lowest temperature set. I will include instruction for carrying & washing.
