Hand Made Poncho with Head Scarf

This cute little set was made using the Virus Stitch pattern found on the Hobbii website as a free pattern. The pattern is written for a shawl, but I thought it would be cute as a poncho and matching head scarf. I made this set using Dahlia Mixo in Wild Violet and added a strand of medium purple crochet thread to the relief rows and trim, both yarns are 100% cotton. The poncho was made as two pieces and stitched together at the shoulders with the side points left unstitched for a fun and flirty, off the elbow look. The poncho has an unfinished top edge to keep it light and flexible. It measures 23.5" at the center point and 52" wide on the top line with a generous 30" neckline. The head scarf is 9" long and 18" wide with a couple of 9" ties worked into the finishing edges. This coordinated set would work well dressed up or down and it´s sure to become a favorite piece.
