I was excited when I saw it. The tag isn´t sewn into the wool, meaning it was designed so that a tailor or seamstress could easily removed it without damaging the fabric and reattach elsewhere like in a side seam where it may would be more comfortable for some wearers. This simple act validated the garment´s age. Rarely is this done today for the craft of tailors´ or seamstresses´ application to garments are rare. This is also an indication the garment was very expensive in its heyday.
